Cabin pressure, recycled air and a lack of oxygen inside the plane environment can wreak havoc on your skin, leaving it dehydrated, puffy, and irritated. The key to in-flight skincare is to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. These tips will have you looking fresh and gorgeous as you reach your destination. Ready to feel your best next time you get off a plane?

#1 Fly makeup-free

Get on the plane without makeup or take your makeup off as soon as you board. Don’t worry about fussing with rebottling your usual makeup remover, today’s cleansing wipe formulas are strong enough to remove stubborn makeup. Make sure you apply a product containing hyaluronic acid after to keep hydration up during your flight.

#2 Drink lots of water

Start hydrating from inside out for dewy skin. Make sure you pick up a big bottle of super hydrators like high mineral spring water before you board. It’s also not a bad idea to bring your own reusable water for easy refills on the plane. While it’s tempting to take advantage of the free airline perks, skip the soft drinks and choose plain water instead! How much water you should drink? According to the Aerospace Medical Association, you should drink about eight ounces of water for every hour you’re in the air.

#3 Multi-use beauty oil

Skin in need of an intense hit of hydration?  Be sure you pack your carry-on with a deeply hydrating face oil. After cleansing your face and removing all the makeup, take two to three drops of your nourishing beauty oil and massage a thin layer onto clean skin. Simply add another thin layer every three hours to keep your skin deeply hydrated if you are travelling on a long-haul flight.

#4 Eye mask

About an hour before landing, throw on under eye patches for seriously bright eyes on arrival. They help hydrate and bring circulation to your under-eye areas. Of course, you may look a little strange rocking these masks on a plane. But who cares? And the best thing is you can pack as many as you like as they don’t count towards your liquid limit.
