Sunscreen in the winter? Yes! Recent findings suggest that skin protection must be practiced not only outdoors but also indoors to protect your skin against UV rays. Sunscreen is indeed a year round necessity for your daily skincare routine. Now we are going to walk you through the four good reasons that you should wear sunscreen every single day. Wear sunscreen now and you’ll thank me later…

#1 UV rays are always present

There is a misconception that the winter sun is not as strong as the summer sun, but you’ re wrong. The sun emits harmful UV rays year-round, come rain or shine. In fact, 80% of the sun’s rays can go right through even the thickest winter cloud. The December sun can burn you just the same and accelerate your skin’s aging process, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin. What to look for in a sunscreen? Dermatologists recommend using a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.

#2 Indoors Threat

Don’t bother putting on sunblock if you’re stuck in the office all day? A daily healthy dose of sunscreen can shield the skin from burns, discoloration and skin roughness for office dwellers who sit near a window, as harmful UV rays can penetrate through window glass into the skin. This also prevent your skin from the UV exposure from lamps and other indoor light sources that we use daily.

Do remember the most intense UV radiation is around midday, reapply your sunscreen onto your face and neck, as they are open to exposure,15 minutes before going out at lunchtime.

#3 Blue Light Damage

Our smartphones and computers can cause just as much damage as the sun. Studies have shown that blue light emitting off the screens of our smartphones, computers and tablets can do damage to your face and hands, increasing the risk of hyperpigmentation, premature aging and formation of wrinkles. So, make sure your skin is protected by wearing sunscreen daily.
