Skincare routine before makeup is critically important for a thin layer, natural and long-lasting makeup. Moisturizing is the key step that you cannot skip! Hydrated skin helps you to apply the foundation perfectly. And, you can have a flawless makeup all day long.
Step 1: Toner
First step is cleansing. Sweep on some toner with a cotton pad to cleanse the pores and the neck. Then, tap the face to absorb the remaining. Wet cotton pads with toner and leave them on your face for 5 minutes when the skin is too dry or peeling. Especially apply on the wings of nose, cheeks and T-zones. Toner can cleanse, calm and soothe the skin. It also helps to hydrate the skin shortly.
Step 2: Serum
Apply the serum before using moisturiser to help the skin absorb the nutrients of skincare products to the pores.
Step 3: Moisturising Lotion/Cream
After the step of cleansing, apply a layer of moisturising lotion for whole face to lock in the moisture. If the skin is too dry, you can apply moisturising cream with thicker texture. Do not apply too much lotion or cream on your face because the makeup cannot last. If the skin is peeling, use 1-2 drop facial oil to massage your face.
Step 4: Base
Many base products have built-in SPF. Base is used for correction. It can smoothen the pores and hold the foundation like a magnet. Some of them contain oil control formula to soak up excess oil.
Step 5: Tinted Moisturiser
Tinted moisturiser helps to brighten the skin and tackle the problems of uneven, dull skin tone and acne spot. Remember to apply the tinted moisturiser partially like the wings of nose, t-zones, under eyes only.
