For those with oily skin, can your summer makeup look take the summer heat? There are ways to ensure that your summer makeup will stay in place, even through the sweat and heat. Let’s keep your makeup oil- and smudge-proof with these makeup tips…

#1 Prime is key

All heatproof make-up should start with prepping and priming the skin. The best way is to use a mattifying primer before applying your foundation to keep your makeup from slipping off your face. Also, look for long-wear foundations that are oil-free. Work in light layers, only add more in problem areas. Remember to keep your makeup light in order to help make your makeup last longer.

#2 Swap your eye makeup for waterproof formulas

Worry about getting raccoon eyes? Invest in waterproof mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow with extra staying power. Avoid using eye cream on your lids as it can break down makeup, and smooth on an eye primer instead for longer-lasting eye makeup. You should also double up works for liner by using a small angled brush to press dark shadow over your eyeliner to set it for longer wear.

#3 Shine control

Blotting papers are a lifesaver. Be prepared by keeping some blotting papers in your purse to whisk away the sweat and oil without piling on more product. Simply press a sheet gently against areas that are particularly oily or shiny of your face, such as T-zone, chin, to soak up the excess shine on the skin without disturbing any of your makeup. Then leave the paper against your skin for a few seconds while the sheet absorbs the oil.  In case you’re all out of blotting paper, you can also use tissue paper to blot.

#4 Lock it in

Always finish your look with a setting spray to get your makeup to last all day long. Hold the spray 6 to 8 inches away from your face and apply using an X and T-shaped motion. Let the setting spray air-dry. Do not blend the spray, or you could end up ruining your makeup. Now, you are good to go!
